Shuva Brata Deb from Hyderabad, IndiaThere is a lot of grain in the picture. You should have tried with a lower ISO, in my opinion. Since you are focussing at almost infinity, there is also no need for keeping the fstop at 8.0. All my sky shots are generally at the f/5.6, least zoom (may be 28mm or even less if possible) and lowest ISO possible. Just a suggestion. 10 Apr 2007 7:12am @Shuva Brata Deb: unfortunately the sky didn't last that long and I didn't check the ISO - I don't mind the grainyness, but I am going to try it a different way tomorrow @Sylvia: thanks Sylvia :) @Lazy Aussie: they were :) @Balpa: pretty incredible that's for sure Bronnie from Christchurch, New ZealandWhile I agree with Shuva about the technical details (btw I'm still often setting the camera on auto and point and shoot!!), the skyscape works well for me, even with the vignette. Love the colours!! 10 Apr 2007 7:42am @Bronnie: thanks for coming to look Bronnie :) dYe from Cambridge, United StatesEvening Clouds! It's a lovely shot. I like the curvature of the cloud formations. Combined with the lighting, it gives a bit of a convex effect. 10 Apr 2007 7:42am @dYe: that' right dYe - thanks for coming to look and your nice comments @ajoeh: thank you ajoeh @Myst: cheers Myst :) Sujit from Hyderabad, IndiaLove the colours and the contrast and the painting like appearance. Agree that a lower ISO would've given you a less grainy picture. But then, beauty lies not in ISO but in the eyes of the beholder :):) 10 Apr 2007 8:31am @Sujit: I am going to try a lower ISO and see what happens - and thanks for appreciating the photo anywah :) Behrooz from Tehran, IranI like the colors. Was there anything between you and the sky? 10 Apr 2007 8:58am @Behrooz: thanks Behrooz - there were treees, the sea and the mountains - you will have a peak at them in my next shot @KM Faisal: thanks KM Terry from Keokuk, United StatesI like the composition it really moves you through the scene. You caught the richness of the colors at sunset. 10 Apr 2007 1:12pm @Terry: thanks for looking - and commenting Terry Nick Passantino from Bronx, United Statesthis looks almost like a reflection the way the sky curves.. Nice shot 10 Apr 2007 1:41pm @Nick Passantino: thanks Nick :) Daroru from Osaka, JapanI think grain in the shot can work to your advantage; depends on what you want doesn't it? Here it lends your shot a 'painterly' quality, very nice indeed. 10 Apr 2007 1:50pm @Daroru: thanks so much for your nice comment Daroru alla from Toronto, CanadaYes, looks like a painting. Beautiful shot. You think I can jump in there? 10 Apr 2007 2:04pm @alla: thanks alla - sure you can - but it could be a long fall :) Jen from Jessup, United StatesAbsolutely beautiful cloud/sky shot! Love the colors and the sweeping motion. 10 Apr 2007 2:31pm @Jen: thanks for your nice comments and yes you are right again Srinivas Koduri from Wheeling, IL, United StatesI agree with daroru's comment, the grain indeed gave a painterly effect, which is good in this one. good one. 10 Apr 2007 3:10pm @Srinivas Koduri: thank you for looking and commenting Srinivas ;) Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaThe clouds are full of Grace !
