@SPunkt: Eat it we did :) I am very excited, because I just bought an apple tree of this variety - in a few years, I will be able to pick my very own very large apples!!!

@Laurie: Yes it is - it's a Wolf River apple and it was very yummy - but it did take a couple of days to eat :)

Very nice use of colors and composition. It almost looks as though the saint in the background is asking him to share half the apple. Goodness knows it's certainly large enough to share.
